Test yourself before you spend your hard earned cash on the actual Theory Test.

These on-line theory test consist of 50 questions for car drivers selected from 'The Car and Motorcycle Theory Test' book.

Because the question bank is protected by crown copyright we are not allowed to display the actual questions and answers on the site. So, instead, we provide you with the appropriate page reference and question number from the book.

In other words, once you click the start button, a new screen will open (as shown below) and a 57 minute timer will start counting down.

Each screen will only show one question at a time.

It will also show

• the category the question is from
• the page number in the book and
• the question number on that page.

It will also display

• the appropriate number of available answers for that questions and
• tell you how many answers are required in red at the top of the screen.

By cross referencing the book, you should be able to find the appropriate question. In general, all of the questions in a particular test will be selected from the same position on a page, e.g. the question in the top left corner of each left hand page.

When you select an appropriate answer(s) on the screen the area around your selected answer should turn blue. If you are happy, you can then click the 'Next' button to move onto the next question/screen.

Once you have answered the 50 questions, or, you have come to the end of the 57 minutes, you will be given your result and a report that you can print out, which details your answer(s) and the correct answer(s).

And finally...

Take your time. 57 minutes gives you more than a minute per question. There is no need to rush.

Read all the answers. Do not just pick the first answer that looks correct. Read and consider them all before you make your final decision.

If you do not know...do not panic. You can always come back to it again at the end of the test by using the 'Back' button. If you are still not sure, try to eliminate any answers that obviously look wrong before making an educated guess.

Please note that these tests only work with Internet Explorer version 4 or higher.
